Alisa and Steve,

This sounds like a corrupt user profile in Windows. Since the Outlook profile is stored within the Windows user profile area, typically a corrupt profile or one on a domain that cannot be loaded/unloaded quick enough gets overwritten.

The other, more simple explanation is that your organization has a security policy in place that deleted the autocache daily.

I just found this program which is free:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/outlook_nk2_autocomplete.html

I used it today and it worked well to edit the nk2 file. I would defnitely backup your nk2 file first and close outlook before running.

Fantastic info! A user complained that the history-list had stopped working. I used a backup of a user's roaming-profile to recover an old NK2 file, then overwrote the NK2 on her local machine. Once I launched Outlook again, everything worked as expected! Thanks!

My 2003 Outlook resets each day and the auto-cache doesn't have anything to populate until I start sending to people, then it's good for the day, but the next morning it doesn't auto complete the address field. What do you think is up?
